We restored a classic Tudor Revival façade with safe Metaltech scaffolding, selective cedar carpentry from Home Depot, and a premium Sherwin-Williams system (Loxon® primer, Pro Industrial™ Waterbased Alkyd Urethane, Emerald® Rain Refresh™). The home now sheds water, holds color, and reads crisp from the street.
What is a Tudor House?
Tudor Revival homes mix stucco fields with raised half-timbering (decorative wood bands). Because the wood projects outward, joints and miters weather first. A durable repaint isn’t “just paint”—it’s a sequence: inspection, cedar replacements, elastomeric sealing, masonry priming, then compatible finish coats.

Our Step-by-Step Process
1) Protection & Access
Metaltech towers with guardrails, toe boards, internal ladder bays; landscaping wrapped; windows precision-masked edge-to-edge.
2) Inspection & Carpentry
Each timber checked. Failing members replaced with cedar, back-primed, glued with PL9000, and secured with exterior screws.
3) Surface Prep
Scraping + Diablo sanding; brittle caulk routed; seams resealed with Dynaflex Ultra.
4) Prime
Loxon® stabilizes stucco; bare/sanded wood spot-primed for bond and uniform sheen.
5) Finish Coats
Pro Industrial™ on timber; Emerald® Rain Refresh™ on stucco. Spray + back-brush for penetration and crisp geometry.
6) Detailing
Knife-cut lines, sill checks for pitch, soft wash, final client walk-through and care notes.

This semi had sun-checked stucco, open diamond miters, and mineral streaks. We rebuilt quarter-rounds in cedar, re-aligned diagonals, sealed every seam, and delivered a warm stone-white field with deep Tudor-brown bands.
